Nursery

​

Our Nursery Room at F.I.S.H. is a special place designed for our youngest learners aged 0-2. Open to siblings of students across elementary, middle, and high school classes, our nursery provides a nurturing environment where every child can thrive.

​

In the nursery, we believe in creating a balanced day filled with engaging activities tailored to early childhood development. From  story time to hands-on crafts designed to foster creativity, each moment is designed to stimulate young minds and encourage exploration. If the weather allows, our nursery children enjoy outside time in addition to snack time, music time, and free play

​

Our dedicated parent volunteers are the heart of our nursery, ensuring every child receives the love and attention they deserve in a safe and enjoyable setting. They work alongside you, as the parent, to lay the foundation for a lifelong love of learning in the hearts of our youngest students.

Preschool 

The F.I.S.H.  Co-op Preschool Room is a vibrant learning space tailored for potty-trained students ages 3-5 with siblings in our elementary, middle, or high school programs. The preschool room is dedicated to nurturing young minds through a balanced curriculum that emphasizes early literacy, math skills, and essential social development.

Our preschool sessions are thoughtfully crafted to engage children in a variety of enriching activities. From hands-on learning experiences that ignite curiosity to outdoor adventures that promote physical well-being, every day in the F.I.S.H.  Preschool room is filled with opportunities for growth and exploration. In addition to stimulating academic pursuits, our curriculum includes creative crafts, interactive free play, and engaging bible stories that instill foundational values.

 

Our approach ensures that each child receives personalized attention and support from our caring educators and parent volunteers. They work hard to create an atmosphere that fosters a love for learning, builds lasting friendships, and prepares young learners for a successful journey ahead.

Elementary Classes 

Japanese

Discover the world of Japanese language and culture at F.I.S.H. .  Our elementary Japanese class is led by an experienced Japanese teacher and native speaker.  Our classes cater to beginners and grow in complexity as students progress.

At F.I.S.H.  we believe in making language learning engaging and effective. Through a dynamic curriculum that integrates songs, games, and repetition, students not only grasp the fundamentals of Japanese but also develop a deep appreciation for its rich cultural heritage. Students have Japanese class 3 Fridays a month.

STEM

STEM class at F.I.S.H.  is where young minds dive into the exciting worlds of science, technology, engineering, and mathematics! Held twice a month on Fridays, our STEM sessions are led by a dynamic educator with a passion for engaging students in the wonders of STEM disciplines.

​

STEM class centers around hands-on learning that sparks curiosity and fosters critical thinking. Each class focuses on a different science topic, blending informative lectures with immersive, hands-on experiences that bring learning to life.

 

Life Skills

Explore practical knowledge and essential skills at F.I.S.H.  Co-op in our Life Skills classes where students gain invaluable abilities taught by parents and special guests. These classes are crafted to equip students with fundamental skills that are essential for everyday life.

By empowering students with a diverse range of life skills we are preparing them for successful future. Our life skills curriculum varies from year to year, but historically covers topics such as financial literacy, sewing, fire safety, first aid, nutrition, and physical education. Each session is led by knowledgeable instructors who bring real-world expertise and hands-on learning experiences to the classroom.

Art 

Immerse yourself in the world of creativity during Art Class, where students explore diverse artists and techniques under the guidance of an experienced art major. Our classes emphasize hands-on learning, delving into the history and techniques of renowned artists while inspiring students to unleash their own artistic expression.

At F.I.S.H.  we strive to nurture the creative spirit in every student. Our art class fosters a supportive environment where imagination flourishes, confidence grows, and artistic skills evolve.

Throughout the year students embark on a journey of discovery, self-expression, and artistic growth that celebrates the power of creativity.

Middle School 

At F.I.S.H.  we are excited to offer a unique middle school program as part of our co-op. Designed for students in grades 6-8 to engage in a stimulating and enriching educational journey, our program offers a comprehensive curriculum.  There are four core subjects: Morning Devotional, Japanese Class, World Geography, and Integrated Projects which are all taught by experienced middle school educators.

 

In the middle school program, we seek to challenge your student by prioritizing academic excellence and critical thinking skills. Geography and Integrated Projects are designed to be creative and engaging with the middle school learner in mind.

 

 Weekly assignments and readings extend learning beyond the classroom, fostering responsibility and academic discipline. All coursework and resources are conveniently accessible through Google Classroom, ensuring seamless integration of technology into the learning process. This platform enhances communication between teachers, students, and parents, facilitating collaborative learning and academic growth.

High School 

The F.I.S.H. Co-op High School is a small but vibrant class that gathers weekly to explore the liberal arts through the lens of Charlotte Mason's educational philosophy. The classroom exudes a calm yet intellectually stimulating atmosphere that sets the tone for deep engagement with literature, history, and the humanities. Each session begins with a devotional and writing warm-up, setting the tone for the day's journey through timeless texts and thought-provoking discussions that encourage critical thinking and a love for learning.

 

Under the guidance of dedicated educators and enthusiastic parental involvement, students delve into a curriculum rich in living books and primary sources. From engaging novels to art studies, the curriculum is thoughtfully curated to provide a well-rounded education that nurtures both intellect and character. Hands-on activities complement students’ academic pursuits, fostering a holistic approach to learning that connects the arts and sciences. In this intimate setting, students not only acquire knowledge but also develop invaluable skills in communication, empathy, and leadership, preparing them to navigate the complexities of the world with confidence and insight.
